Welcome,
      This semester, you will be enrolled in U.S. History 1877-Present. We will be covering 13 topics that will prepare you for your End of Course exam at the end of the semester. The EOC test will account for 15% of your ovarall grade for this class. Your semester grade will be calcuated by the following scale:
1. Classwork-25%
2. Test-25%
3. Notebook-25%
4. Writing Project-25%

 

Welcome,
       You are currently enrolled in U.S. History Dual Credit . This class was designed to mirror a college freshman level class in a Tennessee Board of Regents school. At the end of this semester, you will have the opportunity to take a dual credit test that will give you college credit at a TN Board of Regents school. You are required to take the test in order to obtain your high school credit, however, you are not required to pass it. If you score 75% or higher on the exam, then you will receive both credits. The exam is 2 hours in length with 75 multiple choice questions and one essay question that will count 25%. This class will count as an honors class with 4 additional points added at the end of each grading period. The grading scale will be distributed as follows:
1. Classwork- 30%
2. Test- 40%
3. Notebook- 20%
4. Mid-Term and final- 10%
      We will be covering U.S. History 1877 to the Present. We will cover Topics 1-13 in your on-line and classroom text. The state also provides an on-line text from Stanford University that you will have free access to. I hope that you enjoy this class and I look forward to getting to know you.            Mr. Payne
