Bio

It is great to be a part of the Franklin County High School family. My name is Jose Reyes, Jr. and I will be teaching Geometry during the 2021-22 school year. I am newly retired from the state of Alabama after 25 years of service. During those 25 years, I taught math for 7 years at G.W. Long High School in Skipperville, AL, served as an administrator in the Alexander City School System for 11 years (3 years as as Middle School Assistant Principal, 3 years as an Elementary Principal, and 5 years as a High School Principal), served as an administrator in the Tallassee City School System for 3 years (all 3 years as an Elementary Principal), and the last 4 years as the Superintendent of Scottsboro City Schools. I have been married for 28 years to my beautiful wife Leslie and I have three children: Christian Reyes-Odum (23, Band Director of Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, AL, Auburn graduate 2019), Rio Reyes (20, Junior at Auburn University), and Gannon Reyes (18, Freshman at Troy University). In my spare time, I like to read, officiate high school basketball, and spend time with my family. I look forward to a great 2021-22 school year.
