On September 26, 2017, health science students Cameryn Curtis, Gracie Jenkins, Callie Morse, Gracie Osteen, and Sydney Osteen, along with Rita Sliger and Laura Truslow, health science education teachers, attended the Fall HOSA  Symposium at Vanderbilt University hosted by Tennessee Rural Partnership.  TRP is a private, non-profit organization established to address the increasing challenges of providing healthcare in rural and under-served areas across the state. This year the theme was "experience life as a clinician."  The students were divided into small groups and had hands-on activities in simulation labs.  They experienced emergency procedures, laparoscopic surgery, and the delivery of a baby.
