In February FCHS Junior Chloe Philpot, a very talented poet, competed against eleven other poets, after a previous twelve-poet qualifier, and came in third, giving her a spot on OutLoud Huntsville’s poetry slam team. With this team she will travel in June to San Antonio, Texas, for Southern Fried, the largest southeast regional poetry slam. On April 5th she competed at Coffee County High School, coming in first to qualify for Finals. This past weekend she competed against artists from all over the state of Tennessee at TSU in Nashville. There, she tied for second, earning her a spot on Nashville’s youth "spoken word" team. This July she will be going to Houston, Texas, to attend Brave New Voices, currently the largest ongoing youth poetry slam in the world. Chloe says, "I am beyond grateful to have this amazing opportunity to attend."

Good luck, Chloe!  FCHS is proud of you!
